Struggling Students
Struggling students try as hard as the achieving student but do not experience the same results; sometimes they are frustrated by seeing no results at all. Mindmatters Learning and Counseling helps students develop brain processing successes that allow them to achieve success in school and every other part of their lives as well.
Learning disabilities occur when fundamental brain processes do not operate efficiently. By first identifying the central cause of the disability, we use select therapies to improve academic skills of reading, math and reasoning by strengthening the core cognitive processes that support successful learning. Our methods are research-proven with published studies in peer-reviewed journals. All methods are evidence-based and provided with sensitivity and exactness. Individual differences and needs are respected and addressed in each treatment plan.
Language and reading difficulties are commonly experienced learning challenges. These are complex skills taxing specific brain areas that process language. As a person reads, multiple brain areas are needed to decode phonemes, efficiently speak, read and comprehend text. Struggling learners process slowly, with difficulty, resulting in a lack of confidence and undermining the will to succeed. Neuroscience proves that if a brain is ready to learn the child will learn. Supported by a supportive environment at home and in our clinic, our students are experiencing new successes and excitement about learning.
Language difficulties including auditory perceptual problems interfere with academics and interpersonal skills. Our comprehensive program improves brain-based learning skills. Our goal is for the joy of learning to be experienced by every student.
